A post that's not about cosmetics! How shocking! 

Everyone else has already done the book tag, but I wanted to do it too. It was really diffiucult for me to choose only ten books that have influenced me the most because I;m a big fan of books and I regularly stay up till the morning to finish a book.  I like many genres - dark fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, gothic literature and so on - so this made it even more difficult for me to decide which ten books to include in my list. 

The Portrait of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

I really like Oscar Wilde's work in general. I won't go into details, I guess this is a book most of you have read and you know what it's about. How can I not like Dorian - he's so elegant and…vicious. And I just know I'm going to end up like him - hiding a portrait getting uglier and uglier because of my sins :D 

Highlight & Contour IV - Contour Products

I finally found the time to continuue my Highlight and Contour series I started last month. The last three posts are about cream and pressed highlighters  (here, here and here), and this one is going to be about contour products. Since I don't own that many contour products there is only going to be one post. I'm really pale and it took me years of trying different products to find ones that are matte and don't look orange on me. I hope you find this post informative. You can share your favourite products with me in the comments if you wish.

MOTD: Yellow x Green + Nails

Today's make-up was inspired by…lime and lemons. No, seriously. I wanted to do something tropical because I got tired of always using neutral colours or blue and purple. I did something green about ten days ago but it was really spooky and dark. Today's make-up was much more summery and colorful. The blusher and the lips made the look really fresh. 

MOTD: Neutral I

I wanted to do something really simple and neutral today. Of course, the natural make-up effect on me always gets lost, because I can't resist putting some huge lashes to make it more interesting :D

On the lids I have a beige cream base set with a matte beige eyeshadow. In the crease I've put some matte brown eyeshadows, then I have highligted under the brows and in the inner eye corner with my good old MAC Nylon eyeshadow you're probably tired of reading about. I used liquid liner on the upper lid and then applied upper and lower false eyelashes by Dolly Wink.

I've been looking at some french vintage cosmetics adverts and vintage post cards lately for inspiration. I really like the 40s and 50s old Hollywood movie stars with the elegant make-up and gorgeous curls. I do like Dita Von Teese and Catherine d'Lish too. I used to be absolutely obsessed with the vintage look 2-3 years ago and a liquid liner and a red lipstick were always present in my handbag. As you can tell from the name of the blog - I really love red lipstick! I decided to go back to the 40s yesterday and dug up my hot roller set. After I put them in my hair I did my make-up which took about 20 minutes. 

First I applied some foundation on my face and blended it evenly with my beauty blender. I used Revlon Colorstay to cover all skin imperfections because red lips attract attention and require a good

I've been alternating between really colourful and neutral looks lately. My mood is changing all the time and you can see that in my make-up. Today  for example I was feeling very summer-y despite the horrible rain. So I decided to make something colorful :)  

The light blue eyeshadow is from a Sleek palette and crumble a bit. It's annoying but it's not that bad if I use a base underneath. They stick well and the fallout is not that bad. The dark blue color in the outer corner is from Urban Decay's Electric Palette which is probably the product I've used most this year. Under the brows and in the inner corner I've used my usual highlighter - MAC Nylon.

 Today's make-up was inspired by the beautiful sunsets at the Black Sea coast. The colours are warm (red and orange). I've applied some thin liquid liner. I wanted to try something different so I applied some red eyeshadow as eyeliner in the waterline. 

Highlight & Contour III - Powder Highlighters II

In two previous posts I described some cream and some pressed highlighters (here and here). In this post I'll finish my highlighter series because I want to describe the contour products I own in the next post.  

Canmake Highlighter 001 

This highlighter is by the Japanese brand Canmake which is a drugstore Japanese brand. I got it off Ebay in 2010 for about 10 USD. I really like Canmake in general. I've used a blusher and a lipgloss by Canmake and loved them. I find the quality really good considering the affordable price. This highlighter  looks really scary and white in the packaging but looks amazing when you blend it. It's very suitable for really pale people - there is no glitter in it, just a nice sheen.

Nothing exciting in this post…just another MOTD by me. Today I was thinking that I hadn't done anything green for a while. I dug up my MAC Humid eyeshadow and Fringe from the Urban Decay Electric Palette and that's the result.
